In the next weeks there are various great super-resolution workshops taking place, for instance in cooperation with Marko Lampe and Ulf Schwarz at the EMBL in Heidelberg, at the RMS in Leeds and with Rebecca Saleeb at ESRIC at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

The Laser Analytics Group (http://laser.ceb.cam.ac.uk/) of the University of Cambridge, UK participates in training interdisciplinary PhD students in advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques. The students are part of doctoral training centres in the field of Sensor technologies (http://cdt.sensors.cam.ac.uk/) and Nanoscience (http://www.nanodtc.cam.ac.uk/).

The Laser Analytics Group is specialised in the development of state-of-the-art super-resolution microscopy platforms based on STORM, STED and SIM techniques and is at the forefront of microscopy research at the nanoscale in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. The group trains students in advanced microscopy, helping them to develop expert skills in imaging during practical work in research labs as part of their integrated training within Cambridge.

For these practicals, the students imaged Gattaquant nanorulers for STORM and STED microscopy, highlighting the power of the techniques to resolve nanometer scale structures in situ.
